Northmead CAPA High School - Design and Construct Multidisciplinary Sporting Facility

NSW Sports and Recreational Facilities were engaged via the NSW Department of Education to upgrade two existing asphalt basketball courts. NSW Sports and Recreational Facilities designed and constructed a large shade cover (COLA) total area 1487.5 sqm, along with an extensive upgrade to the multidisciplinary courts, including the design of a stormwater system and integrated water tank. A complete list of project requirements is below.

NSW Sports and Recreational Facilities carried out all works during the school holidays and during a live school environment without impacting the day-to-day school activities.

Design and construct a large shade structure ( COLA) 42.5m x 35m. Area 1487.5 sqm

Design and construct stormwater system with integrated 20,000-litre water tank.  

Installation of 'Ages Build' designed double reinforced, semi suspended concrete slab.

Application of 'Mapei' court finishes and line markings.

Design and installation of all electrical services to shade structure and stormwater system.

Install vandal proof LED lighting.

Installation of new electrical services.

Installation of 4 new reversible basketball and netball boards.
